CCE Philippines

:: Who Are CCEs?

French businessmen, chosen among the best known executives in the import/export field, in France and abroad, and appointed by a decree signed by the French Prime Minister for a three-year renewable term.

Foreign Trade Advisors commit themselves to work pro bono and to assist the French Administration in setting its trade policy. In foreign countries they are closely cooperating with the French Embassy Economic Department.

For the very beginning in 1898 (also important year for the Philippines!) they joined together in an Association called National Committee of French International Business Advisor designed to help them to carry out their mission; to work and think together, to hold discussions with public officials, to organize meetings and conferences and to exchange information and hint on foreign markets.

The association receives no government subsidies. It is entirely financed by its member's subscriptions.

Located in France as well as around the world, the CCEs represent a dynamic network of 3,400 members.

:: What Is Their Mission?

Information
• Their presence in the field generates awareness of the full range of international business risks. Their opinion helps shape the French trade policy.
• CCEs organize conferences all over the world to compare and exchange their views with French and international decision-makers, their analysis of international trade and their experience of specific markets.
• CCE are full part of the French foreign trade network (in particular, French embassies, trade commissioners and chambers of commerce).

Advisory Role
• CCEs voluntarily advise French small and medium-size companies on their international development.
• They offer their support, either on a time-limited basis (specific advice, guidance and introductions), or on an on-going basis possibly with the participation of a student.

Education
• CCE members advise the young and highlight for them the opportunities of international trade careers.
• They share their professional experience with schools and universities and promote contacts between schools and business.
• Since 1988, they have sponsored several hundred young voluntary workers abroad and were involved in the re-thinking of the French national service.
